These days, people are looking for sales and good deals more than ever. The library has seen an increase in usage for that reason. Where else can you get free books, DVDs, and CDs?

Americans are rediscovering the value of their libraries and, since September is Library Card Sign-up Month, many libraries across the country are making it even easier to get a library card.

DC Library Card Drive

Here in PLCMC’s Main Library, we have created and are playing a series of slides on the flat screens here in Virtual Village to promote awareness of all the services available to library card holders. Promoting a library card use in the library may sound a bit like “preaching to the converted,” but many people who come in to use the computers are visitors from another town or library card holders who are unaware of all of the services and products that are available to them through the library. This series of  slides serves as a promotion for library services as well as library card sign-up.
